grasses that seed eating birds love. Watch your budgies eat and play with these
seed heads.
Australian native grasses include Kangaroo grass, Redgrass,
Wallaby grass, Poa tussock, Snow grass and Weeping grass, Native Seeds also
sells seed of other Australian grasses such as Silky Bluegrass, Scented Top
grass, and Cotton Panic grass.
Also included from time to time are New Holland Daisy and
Yellow Button Everlastings which flower on and off during the warmer months.
Ruth prepares floriettes of suitable seed heads as they become available.
Seeds are only available in season, from October to March.
Kangaroo grass.
Attractive rusty-red seedheads form throughout the summer
and are usually 30–50 cm long on stems with dark nodes.

Wallaby grass
The seedheads vary considerably, but are usually about
0.3–1.0 metres above the ground and have an attractive white fluffy top when
mature.

Mitchell grass
When in flower, Mitchell grass has a spiked flowerhead 5-30
cm long with stalkless spikelets

Spear Grass
Flowerheads vary between the species. Most have attractive
feathery panicles which vary in length and breadth. The seeds are often sharp
with long awns which are usually twisted.

Poa Tussock
have green spreading seedheads with clusters of green and
purple spikelets which fade as they ripen.

Snow Grass
have green spreading seedheads with clusters of green and
purple spikelets which fade as they ripen.

Red Grass
elongated red seed heads and red stems, the red colour fades
from the seed heads as they ripen
